Zambia Conference of Catholic Bishops (ZCCB) National Youth Coordinator who is also the Provincial Youth Coordinator for the Salesian Sisters, Sr. Chanda Nsofwa, FMA, and Youth Delegate for Zambia, Malawi, Zimbabwe and Namibia Province Fr. Christopher Kunda, SDB, expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the event and the level of awareness created.

“The Youth Rally which was organised by the Salesian family attracted more than 800 youths from Zambia, Malawi and Zimbabwe with the objective of sensitising the young people on the upcoming youth synod which will take place in October this year,” they said.

Young people had opportunity to ask questions and seek clarification on the Synod

During the event, young people were given time to express themselves and to ask questions on the topic, ‘Young people in today’s world, Vocational Discernment and life choices.’

There was time for prayer and reflection

Central to this gathering were moments of prayer, which were well spaced out in the course of each day.  There was also the Youth Pilgrimage to the Mansa Cathedral of the Assumption of Mary and an outing to Lake Bangweulu in Samfya District where the closing Mass was celebrated.
