“With God’s help peace and disarmament are possible, said Pope Francis asking for prayers to Our Lady to help humanity to convert to God’s plan.”
Speaking after the Angelus prayer on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, the Pope said that during the afternoon he will go to the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore “to pray before the icon of the Salus Popoli Romani, and afterward to Piazza di Spagna to perform the traditional act of homage of prayer at the feet of the monument to the Immaculate Conception.”
“I ask you to join me spiritually in this gesture that expresses our filial devotion to our Mother, to whose intercession we entrust the universal desire for peace, particularly for the martyred Ukraine, which suffers so much.”
The Pope said he thinks of the Angel’s words to the Virgin: “nothing is impossible to God.”
Peace and disarmament are possible with God’s help
With God’s help, peace is possible. Disarmament is possible. But God wants us to cooperate with our good will.
“May Our Lady,” the Holy Father continued, “help us to convert to God’s plan.”
And expressing his wishes to everyone for a Happy Feast Day and a Happy Advent Journey, he repeated his prayer to the Virgin:
“Help us Our Lady, God desires our good will.”
