The Holy See Press Office has released the Calendar of Pontifical Liturgical Celebrations for the month of June.

The only official liturgical celebration published today is the Mass for the Solemnity of the Feast of Sts. Peter and Paul, on 29 June at 9:30 a.m., in St. Peter’s Basilica.

Traditionally, the Solemnity’s Holy Mass in the Basilica is celebrated in the presence of Bishops and Cardinals as well as a delegation from the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, who travel to Rome for the traditional exchange of delegations on the feast days of their respective patron saints.

At the beginning of the celebration, deacons usually descend into the Confessio situated beneath the Basilica to fetch the Pallia to be imposed on the metropolitan archbishops appointed during the year, and the Pope blesses the the Pallia which are signs  “chosen to symbolize the reality of pastoral care.”
