Pope appoints four Bishops for English-speaking world

Fr. Wilybard Lagho of Malindi (Kenya), Fr. Neil Sebastian Scantlebury of Bridgetown (Barbados), Bishop Alberto Rojas of San Bernardino (US), and Bishop Victor Lyngdoh of Shillong (India) are named by Pope Francis to head their dioceses.

Pope Francis on Monday made a series of ecclesiastical appointments to care for his flock across the globe. They include:

Bishop-elect Wilybard Lagho of Malindi, formerly the vicar general of the same Metropolitan Archdiocese.

Bishop-elect Neil Sebastian Scantlebury formerly pastor of St Thomas in the US Virgin Islands and Chancellor and Parish priest of St. Ann Parish in St Croix Island, who becomes Bishop of the Diocese of Bridgetown, Barbados.

Bishop Alberto Rojas, until now Coadjutor Bishop of the Diocese of San Bernardino, California (USA), who succeeds Bishop Gerald Barnes, who led the Diocese for 23 years, and resigned on his 75th birthday.

Metropolitan Archbishop Victor Lyngdoh of the Archdiocese of Shillong (India), who formerly served as Bishop of the Diocese of Jowai.
