Pope Francis visited Bangui on 29 November 2015. After that visit he decided to do something concrete for malnourished children in the country and asked the Vatican’s Children’s Hospital, the ‘Bambino Gesù’ to provide assistance.

Just three years after the Pope’s apostolic journey, a new medical center has been inaugurated in Bangui by the country’s President and by Cardinal Krajewski.
