A home for all who need welcome

During the Vatican’s opening ceremony of the family festival on Wednesday evening, Pope Francis invited families to make the world a home for all who need to feel welcomed and accepted.

The World Meeting of Families in Rome was initially scheduled for 2021. It would have coincided with the fifth anniversary of the publication of Pope Francis’s encyclical on the family, Amoris Laetitia, but due to the pandemic was moved to 22 June, ending 26 June 2022.

Pope Francis wishes the church to embrace and engage all families worldwide.
