Christmas Season 2021: Rejoice in Christ’s birth – Stella Maris

The birth of Jesus is the most powerful sign and message of hope in a world darkened by the shadows of fear and uncertainty caused by the coronavirus pandemic. We bring you the voices of religious leaders and heads of Christian charitable organizations as they look to a future in which “No one is saved alone.”

Celebrating the birth of the Child Jesus, who brings the light of hope and salvation into the world, the Chief Executive and European Regional Coordinator of Stella Maris UK shines a light on the work of seafarers and fishers during the Christmas season, and invites us to pray for them and Stella Maris personnel.

“Seafarers will be working throughout Christmas to deliver to our shores the presents and all the products we consume during the Christmas season,” says Martin Foley.Listen to Martin Foley of Stella Maris

This Christmas, in hundreds of ports around the world, chaplains and ship visitors will be visiting as many ships as they can to distribute Christmas gifts and Christmas cards written to seafarers by Stella Maris supporters.

Mr Foley invites people to pray for seafarers and fishers this Christmas, that, “through the love and generosity of Stella Maris chaplains, ship visitors and supporters, they may rejoice in the transformative proclamation of Christ’s birth.”

Stella Maris UK is an agency of the Catholic Church which offerspractical and pastoral care to all seafarers.
