Pope Leo XIV will visit the Republic of San Marino on the morning of Saturday, August 22, the Prefecture of the Papal Household announced on Thursday, May 28.

In the upcoming months, Pope Leo will undertake several pastoral day visits across Italy, including to Rimini in the northern Italian region of Emilia-Romagna, to participate in the 47th edition of the Meeting for Friendship among Peoples, on Saturday, August 22.

The Pope will thus stop in San Marino in the morning, before going to Rimini in the afternoon.

The Prefecture of the Papal Household’s statement says that the Pope is accepting the invitation of the previous Captains Regent – the heads of state of the Republic of San Marino – Matteo Rossi and Lorenzo Bugli.
